CEO
Dan is an experienced leader with a 25+ year career spanning government service and private sector security. He began as a Royal Marines Commando, serving in Northern Ireland. Later, he joined Scotland Yard’s elite SO19 and SO1 units, playing a key role in national security and counter-terrorism operations. Transitioning to the U.S., he led security at the San Francisco 49ers, building a family office program and earning a DHS Safety Act award at Levi’s Stadium. Dan went on to join a Fortune 500 tech company, rising to Senior Director of Global Security and Resiliency in 2019. He led the company through a global security rebuild and the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Dan formed Nickel Group, where as CEO, he heads a team of experts building security solutions for clients.
COO
Scott is an accomplished leader and strategic thinker within the security industry with more than 18 years of experience. His background includes a unique blend of military service, executive protection, cyber, residential, and corporate security in the U.S. and internationally. Scott was the VP of Global Security for a hospitality company with over 250 locations globally. Prior to joining Nickel Group, he ran all security operations for multiple high-net-worth individuals and Fortune 500 companies as a security contractor. He led a team of over 200 people that included executive protection agents, emergency response teams, residential security agents, GSOC operators, intelligence analysts, and protective surveillance teams.
VP, Operations
Mike joined Nickel Group after a 27-year career with the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), retiring as the Assistant Chief of Operations where he oversaw Field Operations, Investigations, Special Operations, and Airport Bureaus. He was a member of SFPD’s command staff for eight years, serving as the Assistant Chief of Operations for over two years with operational oversight for over 2,200 police officers. As a result of his efforts in the SFPD, and the teams he put in place, Mike has been recognized for his leadership in reducing San Francisco’s crime rates through his innovative crime prevention and enforcement programs. Mike also has extensive experience leading the planning and operational deployment of many high-profile events working in conjunction with local, state, and federal partners.
Director of Admin & Intelligence
Michelle has extensive experience providing analytical and protective intelligence support to key decision-makers within the security and corporate sectors. Before joining Nickel Group, she built and managed a Global Intelligence Program at a Fortune 500 company. She holds an M.A. in Nonproliferation & Terrorism Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, a B.A. in International Affairs & Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno, and is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist through ACAMS. At Nickel Group, she runs the Intelligence and Administrative divisions, supporting the unique needs of Nickel Group’s clientele.
